More than 80 years after our founding, the Society for Applied Microbiology remains a champion for the application of microbiology, its practitioners and an international community of members. Our five internationally recognised journals are committed to peer review integrity and upholding the highest standards in disseminating authoritative scientific information.
Across the field, we work to support the development of early and mid-career scientists and recognise and celebrate the outstanding achievements of applied microbiologists at each stage of their careers.
We empower our members to advance and promote microbiology, reach their full potential, grow their networks, inspire future generations and collaborate. Our members provide scientific solutions for the significant challenges facing humanity, including infectious diseases; the changing environment; sustainability of energy, food, water and land resources; and economic growth.
Our focus, over this current strategy period (2018–2021), will be on a number of these priority areas.
