The purpose of the Registration Fees Grant is to support members to attend an applied microbiology scientific meeting within their country of residence. These costs are limited to registration fees only, to a maximum of £400. This grant is available to all members, including those currently on maternity/paternity leave.

The grant may also be used by members wishing to attend SfAM training courses, workshops, symposiums or professional development events (more details of these are listed in the training section of the website).

Please remember to include the event programme or link to the event website. Your application will not be considered unless this is received.

The Registration Fees Grant is open to any current member of the Society, regardless of their geographical location, but to be eligible you must be a current member and have been so for a minimum of 12 months.

Only one successful Registration Fees Grant application is permitted for events held by other organisations in a 3-year period. If the Registration Fees Grant is being applied to come to an SfAM event, workshop or lecture then members are allowed one successful application per annum.

For applicants with home responsibilities, you may also wish to apply for the Care Support Grant to help cover costs of child/dependent care whilst attending an event. The Care Support Grant can be awarded separately or in conjunction with the Registration Fee Grant. A separate application must be made for this award (see website).
