The Scientific Meeting Support Grant aims to advance research in applied microbiology and encourage our members to promote and highlight innovations in applied microbiology at a local level as well as providing a networking opportunity for established scientists and students.

The Scientific Meeting Support Grant is NOT to fund expeditions, wages, prizes (e.g. for posters), social events/refreshment breaks, alcohol or abstract booklets. You may wish to apply for Small Event Sponsorship to cover these types of expenses.

The Grants Awards Panel will also NOT accept repeat applications for the same event held in future years.

Acknowledgement of funding: as part of our agreement to provide funding, we request that should your application be successful, you acknowledge SfAM’s contribution to the meeting on your website and in any printed material circulated about the event. We would ask that this acknowledgement includes our organisations name, logo and web address.

We also require a 250 to 500-word summary of the meeting, including an assessment of the impact and outcome of the meeting within 12 weeks of the meeting date.
