SfAM and FEMS Congress 2019

7-11 July 2019

The Society for Applied Microbiology will partner with the Federation of European Microbiology Societies for FEMS 2019.

FEMS2019 will bring together leading scientists spanning different fields of microbiology to celebrate the best of microbiology. This congress will showcase the most recent developments in microbiology to address some of the global challenges we face today, such as antimicrobial resistance, environmental pollution and the emergence of pathogenic disease.

This will mean SfAM will assist in creating a truly exceptional and diverse scientific programme for delegates, on a range of topics covering our priority areas and much more. Our early career scientist members will have a dedicated student presentation section, the WH Pierce Prize (now worth a staggering six thousand pounds) will be awarded, and recipients of the New Lecturer Research Grant will present their work. The FEMS 2019 Congress will also host the annual general meetings (AGM) of both SfAM and the SfAM ECS Committee.

Members of SfAM can take advantage of heavily reduced registration rates and can apply for multiple grants, including a new SfAM & FEMS Congress Accommodation Grant, worth up to £300. Members may also nominate for the WH Pierce Prize (but hurry - the deadline is 15 December 2018).
