Our mission is to be the voice of applied microbiology, promoting the science of microbiology in its application to the environment, human and animal health, agriculture and industry.
SfAM enables microbiologists within our membership and beyond to connect with Government and Parliament, giving them a voice to help maximise the impact of microbiological research and application.
The Society frequently responds to requests from policymakers for evidence and information, working in tandem with our members and partner organizations.
At the heart of the Society’s work is a commitment to giving microbiology a voice, so we can shape our work and influence change.
SfAM encourages numerous approaches to diversity and inclusion in microbiology and related disciplines, and undertakes inclusive practices in support of this.
