SfAM response to inquiry into antimicrobial resistance

The Society for Applied Microbiology submitted written and oral evidence to the House of Commons Science and Technology Committee inquiry into antimicrobial resistance (AMR) in 2013.

This response was in addition to the Society's endorsement of the evidence supplied by the Society of Biology. SfAM's written evidence discusses the emergence and spread of AMR, gaps in knowledge and international guidelines and regulations. You can download a copy of our response below.

In December 2013, Professor John Threlfall was invited to present oral evidence to the select committee, on behalf of SfAM. A transcript of the oral evidence hearing can be found on the UK Parliament website.
