Join us for the next Policy Lunchbox with Steve Ormerod, Professor of Biosciences at Cardiff University. Steve will be reflecting on the importance of academic engagement with policy. The session will also include an overview of Steve's personal experience in engaging with the policy process and how he thinks other scientists and researchers can maximise their policy impact.

Biography:

Steve Ormerod is a Professor in the School of Biosciences at Cardiff University. He is currently a board member of Natural Resources Wales, Co-director of the Cardiff Water Research Institute, Vice-President for the Royal Society of the Protection of Birds, and Chairman of Buglife.

Steve is committed to teaching researchers about how science informs policy and what impact research can have. His research interests include: Global change effects on freshwater organisms and ecosystem, river biodiversity and ecosystem service, and the ecology of river and wetland birds.
